TExas Medical Association Alliance





The TCMS Alliance is member of the Texas Medical Association Alliance, and TMAA's support is very important to our county Alliance.

  • TMAA provides infrastructure, from database management to dues billing.
  • Organizes annual meetings.
  • Provides leadership development for our board members.
  • Provides the framework for our joint Community Health projects Hard Hats for Little Heads, Vaccines Defend What Matters, and Texas Bookshare Project along with opportunities for funding for all three.
  • Connects us with advocacy efforts and organizes events such as our bi-annual "First Tuesdays at the Capitol" which is the legacy of our own Susan Todd when she was TMAA President.
  • TMAA staff is available to answer questions and help our county take our work to the next level.
  • Our Alliance has a long history of leadership within TMAA including many TMAA Past Presidents. Current Alliance Members in leadership roles in TMAA
  • Connects us with Alliance members all across the state of Texas

Texas Medical Association Alliance

American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA)





The TCMS Alliance is a member of the American Medical Assoication Alliance, AMAA.

  • Unlike with your TMAA dues, which are a requirement of TCMSA membership and billed along with your TCMSA dues, AMAA membership is optional and you will be invoiced separately.
  • AMAA also focuses on the Family of Medicine.
  • Members receive Physician Family Magazine in the mail. Anyone can access digital copies.
  • AMAA hosts a Facebook group for Physician Families.
  • AMAA has initiatives supporting Public Health education and Advocacy including programs aimed at stopping violence especially bullying, the epidemic of drug overdoses and physician burnout.
  • Provides small grants to county Alliances for programs that align with these initiatives.
  • Opportinities for medical legislation advocacy on a national level.

Tarrant County Medical Society





We are closely partnered with our local Medical Society, TCMS, sharing resources, working together in advocacy, community health projects and social events.

  • Project Access Tarrant County - is a project of the Tarrant County Academy of Medicine and the Alliance is a proud supporter.
  • Gold Headed Cane Award - Annual dinner honoring a member of the TCMS who exemplifies the highest standards
  • Advocacy - we partner with TCMS in many internal and external advocacy education events

TEXPAC





Alliance members align with physicians as members of TEXPAC.

  • TEXPAC is TMA’s political action committee whose purpose is to protect Texas patients through political education and activism.
  • TEXPAC’s June Bratcher Award for Political Action recognizes the outstanding efforts of a physician’s spouse on behalf of the Texas Medical Association.
  • Alliance members have the choice whether to join TEXPAC with their TCMSA membership.
